New Orchestral Model Requires 15 musicians

Over a three year period there wil be a gradual implementation of a trial project in Trondheim which will see the expansion of the orchestra up to 90 members. Ten full time string positions will be created as a part of this project. The musicians, though employed by Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, will be obliged to operate up to 15 weeks per annum in the Trondheim Soloists.

Combined Positions
In 2007 six new combined positions will be created, three of which will commence employment from 01/08/07, the other three from 01/08/08.

The order, in which these positions are filled, will be decided during the audition period. The combination positions are essentially tutti positions. However, suitability for vacant group leader positions may be taken into consideration.

Candidates who are acceptable to Trondheim Symphony Orchestra must also undergo a short trial with the Trondheim Soloists to prove their competence in a chamber music environment.

Audition requirements will consist of both obligatory and self chosen solo works and orchestral repetoire. In addition, the combination candidates will also be assessed in chamber music repetoire.

All candidates are required to stipulate if they wish to be considered only for specific positions, i.e. TSO vacancies or the combined positions.
